About Gerry Hayes

Gerry Hayes is a writer, luthier, and guitar repairer. He runs Haze Guitars in Dublin, Ireland and has been building and repairing guitars for over two decades. 

He’s pretty nerdy and he's keen to help players understand as much as they can stand about maintaining their guitars. He writes a popular email newsletter and has written a number of books including Complete Guitar Wiring, Buying Used Guitars, and the Sketchy Setups series of guitar and bass setup guides. 

Gerry consumes way too much tea and cake (never chocolate cake) and an occasional craft beer.

Complete Guitar Wiring Released

February, 2022—Gerry Hayes announced the release of his latest book, Complete Guitar Wiring, a comprehensive how-to guide for beginners and a reference manual for the experienced.

The book includes a foreword from legendary guitar repairer, Dan Erlewine, and contains 400 pages of full-colour, richly illustrated guidance that’s easy to understand.

Complete Guitar Wiring is available in both print and digital formats.
